El Jardín Botánico La Laguna

📍 What is El Jardín Botánico?

El Jardín Botánico La Laguna is a botanical garden growing right inside a volcanic crater—how cool is that?! It’s home to over 3,500 species of plants, from towering trees with massive roots to delicate orchids and ferns. You’ll also spot turtles, iguanas, birds, butterflies, and (if you’re lucky) a curious agouti or two.

The shady paths and natural surroundings make it feel like you’re deep in the jungle—without the long drive.

📌 Location

📍 Antiguo Cuscatlán, near the Universidad Centroamericana (UCA) and the bustling Zona Rosa. Look for the entrance near the roundabout at the end of Calle El Espino. There’s parking and it’s stroller-friendly (though a bit bumpy in places). There is also secondary parking if you go to their plant nursery (on google maps search: Vivero Jardín Botánico Plan de la Laguna) which has an entrance to the garden, and some good prices on plants!

đź’µ Entrance Costs

  • Adults: $1.75
  • Kids: $1.25
  • Fish food: $0.60

Cash only—so bring some coins!
